My Mom

I love this woman! Without his woman, I would not be here! So I believe in giving credit where credit is due! I wrote a story about my mom and nominated her as a LifeChanger on this website!

http://lifechangeroftheyearnominees.com/2014/09/03/meticho-oneal/

What I'm asking everyone that comes to this page is to leave a positive comment about my mother based on the story that I have written about her. The more comments that are written, the higher her chances of winning LifeChanger of the Year which would be one of her biggest accomplishments to date! So, PLEASE do me this one favor! I will be back writing more stories and interesting posts later! I will be back!

Jeff's Diary

Dear Diary

OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! OH...MY...F****** GOD! I can't do this! I just can't! I didn't want it to go down like this! If anything, this was the one thing that I was trying SO HARD to prevent! I didn't want to push this girl away. I just wanted to hang out with her and talk to her! Now she has the whole world against me! If anything, the one thing that I wish I could do is turn back time so that I could correct my mistake! And...it really smells in here!

Wednesday

Her name was Maxine. She was the most beautiful girl that I have ever seen in my life. I never seen anything like her. She was tall, smart and not to mention extremely gorgeous. She was a singer based in Los Angeles that had the most angelic voice that I have ever heard. It was sublime. Every time I would hear her on the radio, I would turn that song all the way up and rock out to it. Her song "I Want You" would make me feel like she was speaking to me and only me.

"I want you
And only you
You know that this is true
I loooove yooooooou
But I just won't settle for any old dude
You got to be smart
You got to be kind
And you got to tell your friends that you are all mine
I just want you to know
That I'll never let you go
And that you are my one and only beau"

I loved that song! I went out, bought her whole album and that was the only thing that I listened to. And here's where the good news comes in. She was doing a concert in New York tomorrow which is supposed to be the biggest concert of the year! The Summer Music Bash! I wanted to go, but I didn't have enough money so I sold my old Gateway desktop computer on E-bay and got $200 out of it. (Who would've thought)? So I paid $100 for the V.I.P. treatment which included valet parking, a front row seat and a backstage pass. I got into my Ford Focus, locked the doors and windows in my house and left my state of New Jersey en route to NYC. I used the remainder of my money to book a night at a hotel. When I got in my room, I took a shower, looked out the window and all I seen was the stadium that Maxine that would be performing in. Elated, I went into my bag, got my MP3 player and listened to Maxine's album "4EVER" until I went to sleep.

Thursday
I woke up around 12 p.m. with the album still playing on my MP3 player. I pressed the "Stop" button on my MP3 player and got ready for the concert. I took a shower, put my clothes on and went downstairs to eat at the hotel restaurant. For 30 minutes, it was people watching the news which was talking about nothing but the Summer Music Bash. I heard people around me saying:

"I can't wait to hear Jimmy Fipp sing his heart out! I just want to touch his long, precious, blond hair! (girlish squeal)"
"I know! And my favorite boy group, SKIE! OMG! Every time Trevor sings, I just lose it!"
"Come on! Let's get there early so that we don't lose our seats!"

I thought "I, however, don't need to worry about that. Because I'm V.I.P., baby! WHOOO!" I left the restaurant around 12:50 and drove to the arena! Then I seen a sign that said "V.I.P. parking and I put my shades on and "eased on down the road". When I reached the middle of the street, a man in a suit and tie went to my car door, opened it and I stepped out. I gave him the keys and he parked my car in the V.I.P. parking section of the arena. I was escorted into the arena by a group of security guards who treated me like a celebrity! I was so excited that I couldn't even believe what was happening. The guards escorted us to our seats which were in the front row of the arena and we, literally, had the best seats in the house! The seats were actually recliners that had cup holders, complimentary popcorn and soda, and (This made me want to pass out) a seat warming/massage button! Now when you pressed the button, it could either: warm the chair OR massage your body! I felt like I was in heaven! I sat down and awaited the magic that was Maxine. I asked one of the guards:

"Excuse me. When is Maxine going to perform?"

The guard said:

"Oh, she's the last act!"

Surprised by his response, I looked at him and said:

"Wait, she's the last act?"

He replied:

"Yes, sir. She is! What? You were expecting her to go first?"

I said in a slightly aggravated tone of voice:

"Yes! I thought she was going to be the main event!"

The guard replied:

"Well, I'm sorry to hear that. We have some other amazing artists on the bill. Why don't you give a listen to them?"

Knowing that I have no power over who was going to perform first or last on the bill, I had to accept the fact that I was not going to hear Maxine perform first. So I thought of it this way: "They're saving the best for last!" It'd be better for her to perform last than for her not to perform at all! Then I thought of something. I would just listen to Maxine's album on my MP3 player than I had brought. Then an announcement came on the intercom:

"The Summer Music Bash will start in 5 minutes! Everyone attending the show, please get to your seats! The doors will be closing in 5 minutes!"

Just then, people started entering the arena. They started filling up every seat in the house until all you heard was chattering from every direction. But I wasn't worrying about it because I had my MP3 player in my pocket meaning I'll let Maxine's voice drown everyone out! I kicked back, relaxed and was taken away by Maxine's glorious voice.

3 Hours Later!
"Hey, buddy! *fingers snap* Hey, wake up!"

I woke up and looked only to see the same security guard from earlier wake me up. I got my MP3 player and pressed the "Stop" button. I asked the guard:

"Hey, what happened?"

He replied:

"What happened was you missed your girl perform along with the whole concert! You fell asleep through the whole show!"

I looked at him in utter shock and also looked around at the arena! To my amazement, there was no one in sight! Everybody left! Popcorn bags, candy, soda, glow sticks and glow rings, strands of hair, ticket stubs. I said to the guard in despair:

"I missed Maxine! Oh my god! I came all the way out here for nothing! Great! I missed my one chance to meet Maxine!"

The guard said:

"Now I wouldn't say all that!"

I said, carelessly:

"Oh, really? Why not?"

The guard replied:

"Because Maxine is still here! In her dressing room!"

Immediately, I jumped out of my chair and asked the security guard if he could take me to her. He asked me for my backstage pass and I pulled it out of my pocket. Unfortunately, the plastic on the pass was melted because of the heat from the chair! Then I thought: "Oh no! Now I'll never meet Maxine! I can't get in with a melted pass!"

Fortunately for me, the guard let it slide and said to me for future reference:

"That's why you wear the pass around your neck, sir."

I said to him, graciously:

Oh, yes sir! Thank you sir! I don't know how I can repay you!"

The guard said to me:

"Just be cool when you see, Maxine! She doesn't like creepy guys!"

Then I thought "(gasps) Just like the song!"

I followed the guard backstage to where Maxine's dressing room was going to be at. We came across a door with a large red heart on it with "MAXINE" in the middle of it. The guard knocked on the door and said:

"Excuse me, Miss Maxine!"

A wonderful and angelic voice from behind the door said:

"Yeeeeeesssss?"

The guard said:

"There is a boy here that would like to see you!"

Maxine said:

"Just one secoooond!"

We heard footsteps making their way to the door and locks latching from the door. Then as the door opened, a huge blast of wind met my face and there she was! Maxine...in all her beauty! I was nervous that I couldn't say anything! I felt as if the wind left my very body!

Maxine said to me:

"Hi! I'm Maxine! What's your name?"

Because I was THAT nervous, I babbled incoherently and wasn't speaking correct English. Fortunately, she thought it was funny and laughed. She said to me:

"Please. Come in and let's get to know each other!"

I walked into her dressing room and looked at her in amazement. She asked me again:

"Now, let's start with your name. What is it?"

I looked into her eyes and took a deep breath. Then I said to her:

"M-m-m-my-m-m-my n-nammm-NAME i-ssssssss- J-j-j-j-eee-JEFF! Jeff! My name is Jeff!"

She laughed and said to me:

"You're funny! I like you!"

Immediately, a sudden warmth started to overcome me and I felt as if I was her one and only. Like she wanted me and only me! I felt like she wanted me all to herself. (Just like the song). Then I had to realize that this was only a compliment and only that. I can't make this bigger than what it is. That's where mistakes happen. So I took it as that and asked her this:

"I like you too. In fact, you're my favorite singer! I play your album everyday and never get tired of hearing it!"

She smiled brightly and said to me:

"That is so sweet! I love hearing that! You have absolutely no idea what that means to me! It's positive comments like that that continue to get me the drive, the spark and the energy to do this! Because none of this would be possible without the love, dedication and support of my fans!"

Her words were so pure and passionate that I had no choice but to start crying tears of joy. She held my face, looked at my face and started singing to me:

"You are my sunshine
My only sunshine
You make me happy
When skies are grey
You never know, Jeff
How much I loooooooooove you
Please don't take my sunshine awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy"

My eyes dried up as I stared into her eyes. I looked at her and said:

"You are a dream come true!"

She giggled and said:

"You seem like a very nice guy. Let me give you my number!"

She went to her dresser, got a notepad and wrote her number. She ripped a piece of the paper with the number on it and gave it to me. It was the happiest day of my life! I got my favorite singer's number! As I held the sheet of paper, my hands started shaking! I got up out of the chair that I was sitting in and hugged her. She hugged me and as we were hugging, my legs started shaking. I couldn't believe what was happening! I got to meet Maxine, have her sing to me, got her number and now she hugged me! Could life get any better? I stopped hugging her and she said to me:

"Well, I gotta go! My tour bus is waiting for me!"

I said to her:

"I'll call you when I get home!"

She smiled and said:

"I'll be looking forward to it!"

As we both walked out, I turned off her light and closed her door. I held her hand and gave one last look at her and said:

"I wish more girls were like you."

Then she said:

"And I wish more guys...were like you."

Then that's when I let go of her hand and she walked towards the backstage exit, making her way to her tour bus. I stood in the middle of the backstage hallway and watched her walk away from my vision. It was then that I started to realize that Maxine wasn't like other girls. She was delicate, pure and amazingly beautiful. I never met anyone this miraculous in my entire life! She truly was sent from Heaven just for me!

Then a voice from behind me came and said:

"Are you all done back here, sir? We're about to close the arena."

I looked back and seen the security guard from earlier. I said to him:

"Yes. Yes I am."

He said to me:

"Well, in that case, follow me sir!"

We both walked out the back entrance of the arena and the valets approached us with my Ford Focus! The valet opened the door and said:

"Here you go, sir! I took the liberty of having the car cleaned and I also placed an air freshener inside the vehicle just so you can remember that you were here!"

I went to the valet and shook his hand and also his partner's hand who was playing Candy Crush on his IPhone 5S. I got in the car and drove away from the arena with the valets and security guard waving me "Goodbye" as I drove back to my home in New Jersey. I got my MP3 player and played Maxine's album "4EVER".

As soon as I got home, I parked the car in my garage, walked inside my house, pulled out my phone and texted Maxine.

"Hey, Maxine!

1 minute later, she responded by saying:

"Hi! Is this Jeff?"

I replied excitedly by texting:

"YES!"

She responded:

"Okay, aren't we loud?"

Then worriedly, I texted her back saying:

"Oh, no, no, no! I wasn't yelling at you! I'm just so excited to be texting you!"

She responded back by saying:

"Oh...my bad! Did you enjoy yourself at the concert?"

That's when I thought:

"You mean that concert that I fell asleep on? Yeah, I enjoyed that concert very well!"

I may've thought that, but that's not what I texted. What I texted was:

"Yeah, I did!"

Then she texted:

"Who did you enjoy the most?"

When she asked this, I hesitated for a moment and thought about how I could properly answer this question. How could I tell her who was the best when I didn't even see the concert? Then I thought: I can just say SHE was! After all, she was the only singer that I heard at the concert!"

I texted her back and said:

"You were!"

She responded back and said:

"awwww! You're so nice !!"

We texted each other for about a hour and a half before she got tired. She said she had a huge benefit the next day and she had to wake up early for rehearsal. I texted her and asked her:

"Could I text you tomorrow? Because I really enjoyed talking to you. You're not like other girls...You're different and that's what I like about you!"

She responded and said:

"Yeah, I'd like that."

After that was done, I put the phone down and waited for tomorrow! I was so excited that I couldn't even sleep! I was texting Maxine! THE MAXINE! I just couldn't believe it! So since I couldn't remotely fall asleep, I got my MP3 player for the 3rd time and played "4EVER" until I fell asleep.

Friday
I woke up at around 10:30 a.m. and the first thing that I did was text Maxine! I texted her:

"Good morning, Maxine!"

I put the phone and walked away to go to the kitchen and make breakfast. I went into the refrigerator and got my eggs, then Pancake mix and went into the freezer and brought out the bacon. As I was cooking, I started thinking about Maxine and all she could be doing right now. Maybe she's on TV promoting her benefit concert. I dropped everything, got the remote, flipped through the channels and found nothing. There was nothing on TV talking about Maxine or her concert. So I went back to the kitchen, got all of my cooking materials and start making breakfast for myself. As I was cooking, I started re-thinking about what Maxine could be doing. She could already be rehearsing and left her phone somewhere so that she could fully concentrate on her performance. She could still be on her tour bus traveling with her band mates seeing the sights of whatever destination that they all traveled. She could probably already be performing with her band entertaining millions upon millions of people that appeared at her show. She could be doing a lot of things right now at this time, so I thought nothing of it and made my breakfast.

I got my eggs, pancakes and bacon, sat at the table with my laptop, went to YouTube and watched one of Maxine's concerts that she did in Canada as I ate. For an hour and 37 minutes, that's all I watched! Maxine performing for the Canadian masses! She was singing and dancing in her short, black miniskirt with a red t-shirt that read "LOVE" on it. Everyone was loving her! Her melodies, her harmonizing that she would do in the beginning of some of her songs and how she did something that I never thought that she could do- she played the piano! Oh, man! She was great! I almost passed out! It was breathtaking, it was exhilarating, it was... rejuvenating! And it made me realize something. I wanted to talk to her!

I went to my phone and sent a message to Maxine saying:

"Hey Maxine!"

I put the phone down and went to my TV again to watch TRL. And what do you think I see on the screen? Maxine's music video "GRRL"! The music video was a breakout song that encouraged teenage girls as well as women to fight back against chauvinistic men and not settling for less. It was ranked #1 on the Pop Charts for 3 months for providing a positive message to the female population, a battle cry for abused women and the theme song to the "Feminist Legion for the Advancement of Women." (So, it was a pretty big deal).

So then I thought: "That could never happen to me! Maxine and I are cool! We're best friends!" I went outside and took a walk around my neighborhood. As I started walking, everything around me started reminding me of Maxine. People driving the street playing her songs, her face appearing on billboards, walls, posters, etc., everywhere! I even went to a KFC to order a 10-piece bucket meal and there was a family who sung her song as loud as possible! I got my meal to go and ate while I was walking back home. As I ate my chicken, I started thinking: "I wonder how Maxine was doing. Let me call her when I get home!" The thought of me calling Maxine on the phone made me want to sprint all the way to my house! I grabbed my bucket of chicken and held it tightly and dashed all the way to my house. I managed to make it back home in under 5 minutes and I ended up tiring myself out!

I put my chicken on the counter and went towards my phone. I picked up my phone and dialed Maxine's number! I couldn't contain myself! I was about to talk to Maxine on the phone! I can't believe it! But as I listened to the dial tone for 10 seconds, I heard the following recording:

*Your call has been forwarded to an automatic voice message system.*

That's when I thought "No, no, no! She has to answer! She always answers!" I picked the phone up once again and called her number. Again, dial tone for 10 seconds and the same message:

*Your call has been forwarded to an automatic voice message system.*

I put the phone down on my table and very slowly, sat on my couch and started crying. I cried out:

"Why won't she answer me? Why? Why? Why?!!"

Then I did the dumbest thing that I could possibly think of! I tossed my phone across the room and it hit a lamp! I then curled into a ball on my couch and cried myself to sleep. A couple of minutes later, I had a dream. A dream that pretty much changed my whole character in a matter of minutes. In the dream, I got a call from Maxine! I said:

"Maxine! Oh am I glad to hear from you!"

She giggled and said:

"Me too! How are you?"

I responded:

"Great ever since I started talking to you! What are you doing?"

She said:

"Oh...nothing! Just..."

Then I heard a man in the background saying:

"Hey, babe? Who is that?"

She answered the man by saying:

"Oh, nobody! Just a friend."

He said:

"Well, can your friend love you like this?"

Then all I heard was kissing and moaning on the other end. I got so upset at what I was hearing that I said, angrily:

"Hey, stop that! That's my girl!"

Then the man got back on the phone and said:

"Naw, bro! She's mine, man! Mine!"

Then Maxine yelled out:

"Ooh! You tell him, baby!"

Then the man said:

"And uhh...one last thing! Don't ever call her ever again, okay? WOLF OUT!"

Then Maxine yelled out:

"Ooh! That's what I like you, baby! I love it when you take charge! Now, kiss me!"

As they were going at it, I pretty much lost control and shrieked in furious anger:

"NO, NO, NO! NOOOOOOOOO!"

And that's when I woke up! I looked around and my phone was still on the floor after I threw it at the lamp! I went over to the phone and picked it up off the ground. I called Maxine's number again and the same result occurred. 10 seconds of dial tone and then the same message.

*Your call has been forwarded to an automatic voice message system.*

I hung up the phone and yelled at the ceiling:

"AUGGHHH! Why is she not answering the phone?" I started going mad! I started losing it! I thought that Maxine was avoiding me on purpose! I need to speak to her! I just have to! Then that's when I had an idea! I got into my Ford Focus and drove to the bank! I went and made a withdraw on my entire life savings! $617.85! I was going to leave to go to California to go see Maxine! I went back to my house, bought a plane ticket online, got everything that I needed for the trip and left. I drove to the nearest airport, got on the flight headed to Cali and relaxed.

4 hours later
As I sat back in my seat, I started thinking about what I would do when I saw Maxine again. What would I say to her? How would I approach her? What would I do when I seen her? Millions of thoughts went through my head as to what would happen! But I figured: "Let's just watch and see what happens!"

It wasn't until 20 minutes that I heard an announcement from the pilot saying that we just touched down and that we arrived in California! I boarded off of the plane and entered the Los Angeles International Airport. I had nothing to carry except my wallet, bag and my MP3 player in my pocket. I started looking around for someone that could give me a ride. But apparently that wasn't hard because I just spotted a taxi outside the entrance of the airport. I went over to the driver and asked if he could give me a ride. He said:

"Where to?"

Being it was my first time in California, I didn't really know exactly where to go, so I just told him:

"Drop me off at the nearest hotel. You think you could do that?"

He replied, calmly:

"Yeah. I think I can do that."

We both got in the car and we drove down the street. I sat back in the seat that was tattered and had the stuffing popping out of it and the yellow paint was partially visible on the seat. Noticing this, I asked the driver:

"Hey, sir! How long have you had this taxi?"

He replied:

"10 years. 10 long years. Only it didn't look like this back then. Why ya askin'?"

I said to him:

"Uhh...just curious!"

He started coughing and replied bitterly:

"Well, ya know the ol' sayin'. Curiousity...*coughs*...killed the cat!"

I looked at him timidly and said:

"Uhh...okay."

He took out a cigarette, lit it up and started smoking it. And that was my cue to roll down the window! I rolled down the window and when I did, the glass was stuck and wouldn't go down.

"The driver said:

"Oh, I forgot. The windows don't work!"

I sat back in my seat and thought "Are you serious? You have got to be kidding me?" Then I just looked at all of the places in Los Angeles. There were fancy restaurants and Venice Beach and the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Then I seen someone that I never thought I was going to see until later on in the day- Maxine! I couldn't believe it! She was already on stage singing to a crowd of people!

I told the driver to stop the car and he did just that without hesitation! I got out and he yelled out:

"Hey, where ya goin'?"

I told him:

"I'm going to see someone!"

I ran straight into the crowd full of people trying to get to Maxine. People kept shoving and pushing and pulling to the point where it was difficult for me to even get around. I got as far as the middle of the crowd until I confronted a large, fat man with a short temper. He had a bag of popcorn in his hand which he ended up dropping.

He looked at me very sternly and yelled:

"Hey, man! Watch where you'r goin'! You made me drop my bag of popcorn and I paid 5 bucks for that bag!"

I looked at him, nervously and said:

"Hey, buddy! I don't want any trouble!"

Then he said, angrily and said:

"Oh, you got trouble, punk!"

He picked me up with his bare hands and yelled:

"I gonna make you pay for what you did!"

Then someone from the right of me said:

"Stop! Put him down!"

We both looked to the right and saw that it was Maxine that said that. The man put me down and I dusted myself off. Then I looked at Maxine and she looked back at me.

I made my way up to the stage and we both looked at each other. She put the microphone and asked me:

"Jeff?"

I said:

"Yes. It's me!"

She said:

"What are you doing here?"

I said to her:

"I came to see you! I mean, you didn't return my calls! Texts! Nothing! I mea"n, why?"

She said, reassuringly:

"Because when we texted last night, I told you that I was doing a benefit concert. I turned my phone off so that I wouldn't receive any calls or texts from anyone until I finished. I didn't want to reply to a text while I was performing. That would be aww-kward!"

I said:

"Oh. So you weren't avoiding me?"

She said, happily:

"Of course not! Why would I avoid you? I told you; you're a nice guy! But...I feel like we need to...stop seeing each other."

I said to her, panickly:

"Stop seeing each other?!! Why would we need to do that?!!"

She said to me, patiently:

"Because I feel like I'm stressing you out and I don't want to do that."

I said to her, in an even more panicked tone:

"Stressing me out? You're not stressing me out? If anything, you're my stress reliever!"

She said to me, concerned:

"Jeff, I'm sorry, but I need to let you go."

I grabbed her by her wrists and yelled out:

"NOOOOO! I CAN'T LET YOU DO THAT!"

She looked at me with eyes of fear and terror. Then I had truly lost it to the point where I would result to physically harming this girl in order to get her to see how much I cared about her. She yelled out:

"JEFF, LET ME GO! PLEASE!"

"I'M SORRY, MAXINE! I JUST LOVE YOU SO MUCH!"

She yelled from the top of her lungs:

"SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!"

Two security guards came from the stage and just as soon as they did, I let go of Maxine and dashed out of there! I ran as fast as I could and as I was running, I heard footsteps and loud voices. I looked back and saw the whole audience from Maxine's concert chasing after me! The minute I seen them, without thinking, I yelled out:

"OH $***!"

I continue to run for dear life even though I was already tired! I had to think of something to escape the angry mob and up ahead, there was a streetlight with cars that stopped at the red light. I thought "Perfect! All I have to do is steal a car!" I ran up to a man in a Chevrolet Camaro. His window was down so I picked up a beer bottle that was on the ground, smacked it against his head, opened the car door, hurriedly took his seat belt off, threw him out and got in. I locked the door, rolled the window up and prayed for the light to turn green. As the angry mob got closer, I started yelling out frantically:

"PLEASE TURN GREEN! PLEASE TURN GREEN!"

Then out of nowhere, I heard someone from the mob hit the back of the car. He yelled out, angrily:

"HEY! THIS ISN'T YOUR CAR! GET OUT SO WE CAN PUMMEL YOU!"

Then I yelled out, fearfully:

"OH $***! LIGHT, TURN GREEN ALREADY!"

Then a few people from the mob started surrounding the car that I was in including the large man that I had confronted earlier. He picked up the man from the ground and said:

"If you don't get out of this car, I AM GOING TO YANK YOU OUT AND BEAT YOU WITH THIS MAN!"

He told the man and slammed him on the top of the car repeatedly until the roof started to bulge. Everyone from the mob started yelling:

"Get out of the car! Get out of the car! Get out of the car!"

And as this was going on, I became more and more afraid! I was paralyzed to the point where I couldn't move! I thought: "This is the end for me! Goodbye, cruel, cruel world! I'm going to die by a vicious, angry mob!" And just when all seemed lost, the streetlight finally turned green and I pressed my foot on that gas pedal harder and faster than a lightning strike! When I drove the car, it took off down the street and I ended up running over 4 people that were in front of the car! I didn't care! I just want to escape! I drove down the street at 100 miles per hour with nothing to lose because I pretty much lost the one person that actually mattered to me- Maxine! So I didn't care! I was blinded by rage and a broken heart to care anymore! I didn't even want to live! I wanted to die! I didn't even want to walk on this very Earth. I didn't want anything! I was done with everything! Done with life! Done with my lousy existence! Done with everyone and everything!

Then, I heard a police siren and seen flashing police lights behind the Camaro. My nervous system shot through the roof! It was the cops! One of the police officers said through the microphone:

"Sir, pull the vehicle over!"

That's when a sudden rush of adrenaline overcame me and I started to feel untouchable! I rolled down the window, struck my head out and yelled out the infamous line to the police officer:

"YOU'LL NEVER TAKE ME ALIVE!"

Then when I pulled my head back in the car and saw that the car was headed towards a pole! Realizing this was happening, I screamed my head off and braced for impact!

BOOM!

And I blacked out...

2 Hours Later

"Wake up, maggot!"

That's was all that I heard from anyone in 2 hours! Then I heard it again.

"I said, wake up! You piece of ****!"

Then I felt a splash of water hit my face and I started coughing up water! I wiped my eyes and reached for my shirt. I wiped my eyes and then looked at the color of my shirt! It was orange! Prison orange! I was in jail! I couldn't believe it! So, I got from the floor and tried to run, but was brought down by the prison guards and warden.

The warden look at me and said:

"And just where did you think you were goin'?"

He picked me up and pushed me to the wall. He said to me, coldly:

"You ain't goin' nowhere!"

I....could not...believe it. I was in the worst place that I could possibly be in. I was in the one place that I never expected to be in all of my wildest dreams! If anything, this is the one place that I tried so hard to stay away from. And it would also be the one place where I would rot for the rest of my life because of one stupid decision.

"Now turn around so I can take this damn mugshot!"

I turned around as the left side of my face touched the cold, icy wall. I started crying uncontrollably at all that happened in my life. The dream. Deciding to come to California to meet Maxine again. Hurting Maxine. Getting chased by an angry mob. Carjacking an innocent man. Getting chased by the police. And last but not least, crashing that man's car into a wooden telephone pole. I can't believe that I'm saying this, but...I deserve to be in here. I messed up my own life all because I was too blinded by wanting to see Maxine to see the damage that I was inflicting on myself. I was dumb, foolish and not to mention stupid. I needed to accept the fate that this where I will spend the rest of my days. In here. In this rotting hellhole. I accepted my fate. This is it....for me.

*camera snaps*

I was escorted by the warden to my cell. As I was walking, I looked around and heard nothing but the inmates yelling and howling throughout the jail. There were inmates at the upper level that saw me and yelled out:

"Hey look everyone! Fresh meat!"
"Hey baby! You're welcome in my cell anytime! Ha ha ha ha ha!"
"I'll see him in the shower! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!"

I felt frightened. I felt like these people were truly going to hurt me. It was hurt for me to walk down the walkway because my legs felt numb. I was constantly trembling due to the constant buildup of pain and overwhelming sadness that I was receiving. I couldn't contain myself! As I made my way to my cell, I looked inside other people's cell. There was one that was asleep, another that was dressed in girl's clothing, another one sitting at his bed making shanks out of the metal springs from his bed. And the cell that I was going to sleep in had a bed, a sink with a mirror, a window, a TV with a TV remote and a bucket.

"This is your cell! Get used to it! You're gonna be here for a looooooong time!" said the warden.

I walked inside the cell and laid on the bed. I stared at the cell and thought "This is where I'll be for the rest of my life? In this small, dank cell? Why me? Why did this had to happen to me? I just wanted to talk to a girl! Is that too much to ask?!!! Is it?!!!

Then I laid on the flat, lumpy mattress, picked up the remote and watched the news.

*BREAKING NEWS! MAXINE HAS BEEN ASSAULTED...*

As soon as I heard that, I rose up in my bed.

*THE POP SINGER, MAXINE, HAS BEEN HARMED AT HER BENEFIT CONCERT BY AN AUDIENCE. BASED ON THE DETAILS THAT WAS GATHERED BY EYEWITNESSES, THE SUSPECT WAS IDENTIFIED TO HAVE BEEN A 6'3 AFRICAN-AMERICAN MALE NAMED JEFFREY THOMPSON. THOMPSON WAS REPORTED TO HAVE GRABBED MAXINE BY HER WRISTS AND REFUSED TO RELEASE HER. THIS SPARKED OUTRAGE IN THE CONCERT, CAUSING THE AUDIENCE TO RIOT AND CHASE THOMAS DOWN THE STREET. THOMAS IS CURRENTLY ARRESTED FOR CHARGES OF GRAND THEFT AUTO, JOYRIDING IN A STOLEN VEHICLE AND AGGRAVATED ASSAULT. MAXINE WAS SAID TO HAVE FLED THE SCENE WITH HER BAND AFTER THE INCIDENT OCCURRED. HER WHEREABOUTS ARE CURRENTLY UNKNOWN AT THIS TIME,..."*

*shuts TV off*

Great! Now I ran Maxine out of the country! My life...is over. But just as all hope seemed to be lost, one of the prison guards came to my cell and told me:

"Thompson! You made bail!"

Then I thought: "Who paid bail?"

Then I was escorted to the front office and sitting in one of the chairs was Maxine with two bodyguards sitting right beside her. As soon as I seen Maxine, I ran towards her to give her a hug, but one of the bodyguards hopped up and blocked me from getting to Maxine.

"You are not allowed any closer, sir!"

Then Maxine said:

"It's okay, Sobe."

Sobe sat down and stared coldly at me as if I was going to physically harm Maxine again. But I had no desire of harming Maxine. Maxine stood up and walked towards me. She looked so frail yet upbeat. She looked into my eyes and said:

"The fact that you came all the way to California to see me was the sweetest thing that anyone has ever done for me."

I, once again, stood in the middle of the floor as if I was frozen to the floor just like in Maxine's dressing room back at the Summer Music Bash in New York. She then did something that I never thought she would do. She walked to me, grabbed my face and kissed me. Immediately, my cheeks turned red and that's when I was completely frozen.

She looked into my eyes and whispered:

"If you love something, set it free."

She moved back and headed towards the exit. Her bodyguards got up and followed her out of the exit, leaving me standing in the middle of the front office. The clerk on the right of me said to me:

"Mr. Thomas. Come to the counter so you can pick up your belongings! Mr. Thomas! Mr. Thomas!"

But I wasn't listening. I was paralyzed from Maxine's kiss to do anything. But I could do one thing. I wept a single tear. Because I know that I was never going to see....another woman....like Maxine....ever again in my life.

"Mr. Thomas!"

Jen's Diary

Dear Diary,

This week was awful. I didn't expect everything to happen the way that they did. I wish I never left the house. I wish I never started school. I wish I hadn't lied to my family about what happened. I wish I never met that b****! I wish I never had sex with that ***hole Brent! I wish I never said what I said to Joanne! I wish I never...(sighs). Let me just calm down and tell you what happened! It all started on the bus!

I was on the bus with Joanne talking about you-know-who! Brent! My boy toy! My everything! That's when Joanne said:

"Jen, he's totally out of your league!"

"And how do you know that?"

"Because...he doesn't date smart girls!"

"Ha! You wish! Everyone knows me and Brent are a soon-to-be item!"

Then that's when Heather appeared! She said:

"Oh please, you white trash freak! You actually believe that YOU have a shot at Brent! If you ask me..."

Then Joanne interrupted and said:

"That's just it! No one did!"

That's when me and Jen high-fived each other!

Then I said:

"Yeah, you cow!'

That's when Heather's face buckled with anger and immediately, she yelled the one thing that ruined me.

"Hey, everyone! Listen up! JEN IS A LESBIAN! That's why she hangs around Joanne so much! They're in love with each other!"

That's when everyone on the bus started chattering among their friends and they started saying things like:

"So that's why she hangs out with Joanne!"
"I didn't know she was gay!"
"Have you seen them make out?"
"I'll bet they both have AIDS!"
"I didn't know she was a d***!"

When she said that, my face burst into tears! Joanne hugged me as I began to shed tears! Joanne yelled out to Heather:

"Heather, you b****! Why don't you go back to the farm, you cow?"

Heather said to Joanne:

"Why don't you take off your wig?"

Within an instant, Joanne released me and shouted in a blinding fury:

"THAT'S IT!"

She leaped from her seat, jumped straight at Heather and started beating her down! Hair was flying, books hit the floor, paper flying in different directions, slurs were being shouted between Joanne and Heather!

"B****!"
"S***!"
"Wh***!
"Fa****!"

Everyone on the bus watched my best friend fight one of the most meanest b******in the whole school and they were yelling "Fight, Fight, Fight" over and over and over. The bus driver stopped the bus, walked down the aisle and broke the girls up.

Heather, with her smeared makeup and hair falling out, yelled to Joanne:

"I'm going to kill both of you! You hear me? BOTH OF YOU!

Everyone on the bus looked at both me and Joanne and let out a long, exasperated "OH!"

Joanne and I looked at her with a steely gaze and that's when Joanne said:

"Make my day, tramp!"

The bus stopped and everyone got off the bus and went inside the school building including Heather who met up with her friends and all looked back at both of us as we got off the bus! That's when me and Joanne flipped them the bird! That made them even more upset and they kept walking towards the building gossiping about what happened on the bus.

I brushed Joanne off, gave her bracelet that Heather ripped off her wrist and walked towards the building.

I said to Joanne:

"Thanks for that back there!"
"Yeah, don't sweat it! You would've done the same for me!"

When we walked into the school building, the unthinkable happened! A rumor spread around about what happened on the bus in just a few short minutes. That me and Joanne made out on the bus! Everyone in the halls looked at us as we walked down the hallway as if we were new kids or something. Then someone yelled out:

"Hey, look! It's the two sl***!"

Everyone in the hall started laughing at us and throwing things at both of us. One girl came out of the crowd, pushed me on the ground and asked in a peevish tone:

"Have a nice fall, Jen?"

Joanne once again lunged at the girl and started beating her down. A teacher saw this and ran as fast as he could down the hall to break Joanne and the girl up. As the girl got up, she looked at Joanne and said:

"White trash!"

Joanne looked straight in her blue eyes with maddening rage and threw one last punch at her and she was down for the count! The teacher that separated her took her to the office while all the people in the hall looked at the girl on the floor, Joanne and then me. I brushed myself off, walked down the hall and as I did, the people in the hall cleared a path for me to walk through. As soon as I got to the middle of the hallway, I heard people whispering to her friends about me.

"Oh my god! Can you believe her?"
"She needs her girlfriend to fight her battles for her."
"She's so weak!"
"I hope she gets hit by a bus!"
"I hope her and her girlfriend commit suicide!"
"I'm surprised she doesn't have AIDS!"
"She probably does!"

I ran straight to the bathroom, picked a stall in the bathroom, and started crying! I cried so hard that my tears actually made a trail from the bathroom stall to the bathroom door. I cried for ten minutes thinking about how all of this started. Why did this have to happen? For what purpose? And more importantly, why was it happening to me? As I began to converse with my thoughts and let my emotions get the best of me, a group of girls came through the door.

"OMG! Is one of the toilets leaking or something? I almost slipped!"

It was Heather and her group of skanks! Heather was looking at the mirror doing her makeup as her friends stood around her.

"I swear if I see that b****, I am going to beat her into a coma!"
"Mmm hmm!"
"I heard that!"
"That little b**** needs to get what she deserves!"

I was so horrified at what they were saying that I accidentally let out a squeal. As soon as they heard that, they turned their heads in my direction. Heather asked:

"What was that?"
"I think it came from this stall!"

One of her friends pointed to the stall that I was in, opened the door and found me. Heather said:

"Oh, well look who it is! I told you I would kill you! Get her!"

Her friends pulled me off of the toilet and held me up! They held me up until I was staring in Heather's evil red eyes! She brought out a pair of scissors and moved closer towards me. She said:

"This is what happens to f*** with me!"

I couldn't break free because her friends had a tight grip on my arms. I screamed as loud as I possibly could, but her friends got some tape from her pocket and taped my mouth shut. That's when it happened! I began to cry even more tears than what I was crying before! I couldn't believe what I was seeing! My hair was falling off of my scalp! All of it! My beautiful blonde hair was on the ground! My life was over! Then she did the worst thing that she could possibly do as a human being! She brought out a black permanent marker and wrote something in the middle of my forehead! Her girls picked me up and had me staring in the mirror. I saw myself completely bald! Not a single strand of hair was on my head! Plus, she wrote "WHORE" in the middle of my forehead! I didn't know what to feel! I didn't have energy to fight or break free! I couldn't cry because I didn't have any more tears left to cry! I couldn't yell because my mouth was still taped shut! I was defenseless.

Heather came up to me and said:

"YOU ARE A WHORE AND WILL ALWAYS BE A WHORE! NO CARES ABOUT YOU AND NO ONE EVER WILL CARE ABOUT YOU! YOU ARE A PIECE OF S*** AND I HOPE AND PRAY THAT YOU DIE!"

After she said that, she slapped me! Her friends threw me off the ground and walked away. I laid there on the ground, broken and frozen with pain. I can't believe what just happened. It was as if my world collapsed right in front of me! I felt like my life didn't matter anymore. Like it had no meaning. Like I...had no meaning. Now I thought "Is this what a doll feels like?" Useless, fake, and inanimate. As I was on the floor wallowing at my own self-pity, Joanne walked through the door, saw me on the floor and said:

"OH MY GOD! WHAT HAPPENED? WHO DID THIS?"

(muffled) "Heather and her b****** did it!"

Joanne said:

"What? I can't hear you. Let me take this tape off!"

Joanne told the tape off of my smeared face and immediately, I started crying again! As I was crying, Joanne saw what was on my forehead, got a paper towel from the paper towel dispenser and tried to wash the offensive label off my forehead that was hard to wipe off. That's when she asked again:

"Who did this to you?"

(crying) "HEATHER! She and her sl** bunch found me in the stall, pulled me out, picked me up and Heather cut all of my hair and wrote this s*** on my forehead!"

When she heard this, she too started crying with me. She hugged me because she realized the seriousness of this situation and felt sympathy towards me. She said to me while crying at the same time:

"Jen, listen...to...me! We wi...ll get through...this! Together! You're my best friend and I'm not going to let these h*** crush you! Because I'm going to crush them before all of that happens!

I looked at her with tear-filled eyes and could tell that she meant what she said. She said:

"Meet me at my house after school. We're going to exact our revenge!"

I said, joyfully:

"Alright! Let's do it!"

Later on that day, I went over to Joanne's house where we discussed our plan for revenge. I went to her room where she drawn a full-scale schematic on her board on how she planned for us to go about our attack. She drew a picture of her house, two stick figures of us with cans of spray paint, bricks, and hammers.

Joanne said:

"Here's the plan. We walk over to her house when Heather and her family aren't home. We use the bricks to break in and we use the hammers to break everything in her house! Once we're done trashing the place, we use the spray paint to write this message on her house!"

She had another board with a message that read:

"HEATHER MEADOUGHS, QUEEN OF THE SL***!"

As much as I wanted to back away from doing this, I was too filled up with anger and ferocious rage to think clearly about anything. I gathered the supplies, followed Joanne downstairs and left the house. We saw Heather's house and luckily, no one was home. But my question was "How did Joanne know that Heather wasn't home or that her family wasn't home?" But I didn't bother asking. As we approached the house, Joanne handed me a pair of gloves, a mask, my hammer and bricks. Joanne said:

"Ready to do some damage?"
"I was born ready!"
"Alright, let's go!"

We both got bricks, threw them at the windows and got in. When we got in the house, it was pitch black. We couldn't see anything. Joanne started looking for a light switch around the house. I was walking around trying to find my way around a house I had never been in before. As I was walking around, I hit my leg on something. I think it was a table or something. Joanne looked at me and said:

"Are you alright over there?"
"Yeah... I'm good. Just find the light switch."

Joanne was touching the walls trying to find a switch when her hand passed by something. It felt like something was wedged into something and her hand went by it again and the light bulb flickered on a little bit. Joanne said:

"AH HA! Here it is!"

Joanne turned on the light and we could be able to see everything now. Now I see that I hit my leg on a circular glass table. Joanne looked at me with a grin and said:

"Okay, now that we can see, it's bashin' time!"

Joanne brought out her sledgehammer, ran straight to the plasma screen T.V. in the living room and started swinging wildly at it! She literally destroyed that T.V. set and as soon as she was done, all of the pieces fell out. I looked at her with a surprised look on my face and said:

"Wow!"

Joanne said:

"Well, don't just stand there! Break something!"

As soon as she said that, I came back to reality, picked up my hammer and started crushing their computer! Then I ran into the kitchen, pushed the refrigerator down and started beating it. I started throwing food all over the place and totally trashing their kitchen. I went underneath the sink and started banging at the pipes until they came loose. Once they were loose, I turned on the water and all of the water came roaring out of the pipes to the point where the kitchen was flooding. I left the kitchen and starting breaking things in other rooms. I was in a room with a king sized bed, a walk-in bathroom and closet, another plasma screen sitting on the dresser along with jewelry, family photos, assorted purses, snow globes, a lamp, watches, etc. I smashed the plasma screen, took all of the jewelry, watches, bracelets, rings and flushed them all down the toilet. I also took the snow globes and cracked the glass with my hammer. I jumped on the bed, took the sheets, bedspread, pillows off of the bed and poured some wine that was on a counter beside the bed all over the mattress. I then went back into the bathroom, turned on the sink and the tub in order to get the flood the bathroom. I also put the bed sheets and bedspread in the toilet and pushed the handle on the toilet repeatedly so that the toilet could back up and contribute to the flood in the bathroom. It wasn't long until the entire room was completely trashed that I made my way to the coup de grâce: Heather's room. When I walked into her room, I couldn't believe my eyes! She has posters of rainbows everywhere! There were posters that would read things like:

"Lesbian Power!"
"Love Only Lesbians!"
"GIRL POWER!"
"LGBT FOREVER!"

There were also pictures of her with her group of girls! There were pictures of her making out with one of them, posing with them, hugging them, rubbing them in a sexual way, etc. I was BEYOND shocked! I felt like I just hit the jackpot! So Heather is a lesbian! It all makes sense! All of it! I looked out the door and yelled:

"JOANNE! YOU NEED TO SEE THIS!"

Joanne came dashing down the hall and stopped in her tracks! When she saw this, her face formed the biggest grin I had ever seen in my life! She got on her hands and knees and said:

"YES! THANK YOU JESUS! YOU ARE A MIRACLE WORKER!"

She went into her pocket and brought a cell phone! She turned on her camera function and started taking pictures of all of the things in Heather's room. The pictures, the posters, the rainbow floor that we were currently standing on, her right earring that was on her countertop. After she was done taking pictures, she said:

"Alright, now let's bash this room!"

Just as I was about to raise my hammer to start bashing her wall, we both heard a car pull up to the driveway. When we heard this, we both said in unison:

"OH S***!"

We both started panicking about what our next move was going to be when Joanne spotted Heather's window! She said:

"Jen! Come on! Out the window!"

Joanne lifted up the window and we both jumped out! We ran towards the wooden fence that surrounded her backyard and jumped over it. We would jump fence after fence after fence until we were at least 100 feet away from her house. As we continued to walk, we heard a loud scream coming from behind us!

A man yelled out:

"WHAT HAPPENED TO MY PLASMA SCREEN?"

A woman screamed in terror and yelled:

"WHAT HAPPENED TO MY KITCHEN?"

We stopped running and started walking to catch our breath. Then I asked Joanne:

"Hey, did you write that message on their house with the paint you brought?"

"Yeah. I did it while you were trashing the rooms. I'm surprised they didn't see it yet! It was on the front of their house!"

We started to laugh at the wreckage that we created and started walking down the street again. About a few minutes later, we managed to make it back home without Joanne's parents knowing that we left. We went upstairs and I laid on her bed while Joanne laid on the floor. I said with the biggest smile on my face:

"And that, my friend, is how you do that!"

I leaned over on the far corner of Joanne's bed and gave her a high-five! That's when Joanne jumped up and yelled from the top of her lungs:

"PAYBACK, MOTHER*******! THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR MESSING WITH THE WRONG PEOPLE! BUT MAN, I CAN'T BELIEVE  THE LOOK ON HER FACE WHEN SHE SEES ALL THE PICTURES THAT I TOOK PLASTERED ALL OVER THE SCHO..."

She started looking for her phone that she thought was in her pocket, but for some reason, it wasn't there! She let out a slight chuckle and checked the other pocket, but it wasn't there either. Then, out of nowhere, she stood there in the middle of the floor frozen in paranoia as she figured out the whereabouts of her phone. She then passed out. I got off of her bed, went over to her and started shaking her to wake up, but she wouldn't respond. I started slapping her across the face, but she still wouldn't come back to Earth. I dashed out of the room, got a bucket from the hallway, went to the bathroom, filled it up and splashed the water in her face. She finally woke up out of her state of induced shock. I looked at her and said, worriedly:

"Joanne, speak to me! Tell me what's wrong!"

She looked at me with fear in her eyes and said to me in her weakest of all voices:

"I left...my phone...at Heather's house."

As soon as I heard that, I felt a huge pain in my stomach! In my head, I thought:

"I'm dead right where I stand!"

Out of the blue, the unthinkable happened. My phone rang and it was the last person that I'd ever want calling me: Heather. I answered the phone and didn't say anything. She breathed heavily over the phone and yelled maniacally:

"TIME TO DIE, B******! GOOD NIGHT"

The phone hung up and we were both silent the whole night.

THE NEXT DAY

Me and Joanne both woke up the next morning with our gear still on from last night. As we woke up, Joanne got up from the floor and asked me:

"What time is it?"

I looked at my cell phone and it read 8:45 a.m. I told Joanne what time it was and brought it to her attention that we overslept! We were supposed to be up by 7! We immediately got up from the floor, got rid of our supplies that we had and Joanne looked back at me and said:

"Ok, so we'll meet back at school! You go home and change out of those clothes!
"Okay."
"Don't tell anyone about what happened last night. If anyone asks, we were cramming for a test!"
"Alright. I won't tell anyone."
"Jen, promise me!"
"I promise!"

I left the house and made my way back to my house, but as soon as I got to the front yard, my parents were waiting for me. My dad came out and asked:

"Young lady, where were you last night? Me and your mother were worried sick!"

I told them that I was studying at Joanne's. Then my father added:

"You also didn't leave a note saying where you were. I mean, you could've been robbing a bank for all we know or at a strip club! When you leave the house, let us know where you are. Understand?"

"Yes sir."

My mom didn't see say anything. She was shocked for some reason. She was staring at my head and then I remembered that I had no hair! After a 10 seconds of staring, my mom looked at me with her jaw on the floor and asked:

"Jen...what happened to your hair?!!"

I couldn't tell them that Heather cut it all off because it would start more drama than what I had already put myself into. So I told her:

"Me and Joanne got our hair done at the salon yesterday and I want to make my hair shorter, but instead, the woman that cut my hair made a mistake and accidentally cut too much of my hair!"

My mom said:

"Well...accidents happen, I guess. Next time, let me come with you so the same thing won't happen again!"

I looked at her and smiled a little bit because she totally bought it. I replied by saying:

"Yes ma'am."

Both of my parents embraced me and we both went into the house. As soon as I was in the house, I ran upstairs to my room and changed my clothes. I took the clothes that I wore last night and threw them out the window to get rid of any evidence of what happened last night. I went to the bathroom, brushed my teeth, sprayed perfume and ran down the stairs. But just as I was about to leave, my parents had the TV turned to the news. The top story was a report of the break-in that me and Joanne were involved in. It was the same house in the same neighborhood and as I looked, my heart almost stopped.

"Police are investigating a break-in that happened on Wymington Ave last night. At around 8:00 p.m. last night, two robbers apparently broke in to the house, destroyed nearly everything in the home including a plasma screen television set, family portraits, furniture and among other things. There was also rooms in the house that were soaking wet due to the amount of water that flowed from the bathroom sink, the tub and from underneath the kitchen sink along with the bedspread that had been soaked in wine. Police were completely baffled when they reported that nothing was taken out of the house and that there were no eyewitnesses."

That's when the camera panned over to the father of the family who was a large man with a saddened disposition and he started crying as he spoke.

"All I want to know is "Why"? Why did they have to mess up my house? More importantly, why did they have to destroy my baby? THEY DESTROYED MY PLASMA SCREEN! (crying) But I want the people who did it to know that...I hope you rot in hell for what you've done! I hope you pay for what you've done! You've not only upset me, my wife and my family, but you upset the peace of this entire community! Not to mention my plasma! MY BABY!"

The camera went back to the reporter who asked someone standing beside her on the right:

"Is there anything that you would like to add, ma'am?

The camera panned to the left which showed Heather with a devilish grin on her face. She looked straight at the camera and said:

"I sure hope the police find whoever's responsible for this! For anyone that finds information,..."

That's when she brought out Joanne's phone, activated the dial pad function and started typing the numbers as she continued talking.

"...call (867)-375-1892! Thank you and I hope that the people that did it die a painful and grueling death! Back to you, Donna!"

The camera panned back to Donna who was looking at the camera with a puzzled look on her face. I stared at the television screen in nervousness to the point where I started trembling as I came down the stairs. My parents looked back at me and said:

"Jen, are you all right?"

I looked up at my mom and said:

"I'm okay! I just tripped!"

I got up from the ground and walked out the door. I walked down the street feeling extremely nervous! Heather knows that it was us that broke into her house! She knows who that cell phone belongs to! I felt sick with each walk that I took. I felt like someone could just point me out at any time at any place! Even at school! Oh my god, school! Heather could've already told everyone that was at school that we were the ones who broke in her house! Or worse! She probably told the police and they're waiting for the right moment to strike! The more I continued to think about these thoughts, the more it increased my paranoia about the situation to the point where the pain in my gut never seemed to leave! I finally made it to school and the closer I got, the louder the voices in my head became! The intensity started building up, the pressure started rising, my blood levels increased, my heartbeat started pumping faster than the Road Runner running on a treadmill! As I finally opened the door, the moment of truth began! People looked in my direction to see who it was that came through the door. When they saw me, everyone became silent. I started walking down the hallway and as I kept walking, people stopped talking and started whispering. I heard them say things like:

"I think she did it!"
"She probably did!"
"She looks like someone who would do it!"
"That's probably the reason why she wasn't on the bus this morning."
"No, she was probably making out with her girlfriend, Joanne!"
"That makes perfect sense!"

I couldn't believe what was happening! Heather didn't even say anything and the news is already starting to haunt me! I ran down the halls crying once again and ran straight into the supply closet! I was tired of this! I was tired of people talking about me! I was tired of people thinking negative things about me! I was tired of the stress that I was getting from everyone that was talking about the break-in! I was tired of it all! I sat on the floor crying again leading yet another trail of tears! I cried for 5 minutes until I heard a soft knock at the door! Then someone said:

"Hello? Is anyone in here? I hear crying."

It was a boy. That's weird. I didn't expect a boy to come and try to help me out of my moment of discomfort. I got up from the floor, opened the door and saw...Brent! The moment I saw Brent, I was tingling all over with warmth and a voice inside of me screamed:

"YES!"

He said:

"Hi. I saw you run in here and I wanted to help. Are you okay?"

I looked at him, sniffling from the crying. I said to him:

(sniffles) "I'm okay."

Brent, with his dreamy blue eyes, gazed into my eyes and said:

"Don't worry about them. They're just stupid and have nothin' else to talk about. You're a wonderful person and you shouldn't let the hate bother you. And if you feel that nobody cares about you, I do."

I accidentally let out a girlish squeal! OMG! I can't believe that this is happening! The guy of my dreams is talking to me!" I calmed down and said:

"Thanks. I needed that."

Then Brent said:

"Yeah. Listen...I'm having a party this Saturday and I was wondering if you wanted to go."

I wanted to yell out "YES" from the top of my lungs, but I maintained myself and said:

"Yes. Yes I would like to go!"

He said:

"Awesome! It's at my place! Starts at 8! Wear something sexy!"

I said:

"I will!"

We both hugged and went our separate ways. But what I didn't know was that Joanne saw the whole thing! She was standing right behind me the whole time in a red shirt with black blue jean pants and black boots. She walked up to me and asked:

"What was all that about?"
"Brent, a.k.a. the man of my dreams, just invited me to go over to his house for a party. Can you believe it?"

Joanne said:

"Impressive. Looks like I was wrong about him dating smart girls. So what are you going to wear?"
"Come to think about it, I absolutely don't know. I was thinking about the news too much to even think straight about anything."

Just then, we finally seen Heather walking down the hall with her girlfriends. She turned her head in our direction, saw us, looked away and kept walking. As we watched her walk away, I returned to my moment of happiness and couldn't wait until Saturday.

SATURDAY, 7:45 P.M.

Today was my time to shine! I got dressed in my low-cut blue jean shorts, red tube top and high-heels. I also put on my red lipstick to doll myself up, a little bit of blush, light-blue eye shadow around my eyes, put my black bracelet on along with my heart-shaped necklace, got my purse, told my parents I was leaving and walked out. I was walking down the street feeling like the only girl in the world. I couldn't believe what was happening! I was going to a party that the man of my dreams invited me to! He's probably going to ask me to be his girlfriend or he's probably going to announce his love towards me! I had so many butterflies in my tummy that I couldn't even think straight. I was only think about one thing: Brent. I finally made it to his house only to find cars parked on his front lawn, driveway and curb. Everyone was either in the house partying or outside with the traditional red cups and alcohol. I walked past a dude that was passed out next to a barrel of alcohol and also passed a couple making out in the back of a white Escalade. I walked up to the front door, knocked and when the door opened, a person fell over. It looked like he drunk himself into a coma. I walked in and was surprised at the number of people that were in the house! It was literally impossible to find Brent! I kept walking around in order to figure out where I was. As I walked throughout the house, some creeper came up to me and said:

"Hey, lil mama! You got time?

I scoffed and said:

"Not for you!"

I pushed him out of the way and kept walking. But that didn't stop apparently. He came back and said:

"Yo, baby! Lemme tell you somethin'. You got what I want!"

I said, annoyed that he was flirting with me when I obviously didn't want anything to do with him:

"And what would that be?"

Then he did the most degrading of all things. He grabbed my ass! I gasped, slapped him, but he wouldn't let go! He then grabbed my wrists and said in a goofy voice :

"Oh, you shouldn't have done that!"

I tried to release myself from his hands, but he had a good grip on both of my wrists! Then he had the nerve to say this!

"Now...how would you like to be my girl?"

Then that's when I saw Brent come in the room. He saw me being manhandled by the creeper and said:

"Hey, dude! Let go of her!"

He ran in, pushed him away from me and punched him in the face! He looked at me with concern in his eyes and asked:

"Are you O.K.?"

I looked at him and said:

"Yeah, I'm fine!"

He looked at me from head to toe and said:

"You look good."

I giggled and said:

"Thanks!"

He asked:

"You want something to drink?"

I said:

"Sure!"

(Because I was feeling kinda thirsty). We went over to the punch bowl and there was a bunch of sodas, alcohol, red punch, etc. at the table. Also there were people who were laying facedown by the table or there were people who laid on the floor in a circular formation with an empty bottle in the middle of them. Brent asked me:

"What type of drink do you want?"

I grabbed the bottle of Dr. Pepper, got a cup and drunk the whole cup in one gulp! It was so good that I started to get pumped up a little bit. Like I just had an extra shot of energy! I quickly went back to the bottle of Dr. Pepper and had another drink! Only this time, I felt a huge explosion happen in my body! My blood started rushing, my heart started beating extremely fast and I started to feel extremely happy! Happier than I've been in my entire life! I also wanted to challenge how much energy I had so I went to the dance floor and started dancing! But as I started to dance, I started to become very excited all of a sudden. I started asking a lot of people to dance with me and they did! All of the boys and girls started dancing along with me and it felt great. It was like I controlled the dance floor! I felt like I was the life of the party and it showed because everyone started cheering me on saying:

"Go, girl! Go girl! Go girl! Go girl!"

I was so wild that I even started dancing on top of a table! I was unbelievable! Everyone formed a circle around me and started jumping and fist pumping! I felt like I was on top of the world! I couldn't be stopped! I couldn't be tamed! So that motivated me to do this! I stopped dancing, ran over to Brent and said enthusiastically:

"Oh my god, Brent! I never had this much fun in my entire life!"
"I know! Isn't it amazing?"
"I feel like I'm queen of the universe!"
"You should!"
"Brent, I have to tell you something! I love you and I have always loved you! You're my light, my shining star, the center of the universe! You're my everything! And I want you! Do me! NOW!"
"OK!"

He picked me up and carried me into a room. He locked the door, laid me down on a bed, crawled on my body and started kissing me. I thought in my head:

"YES! YES! THIS IS THE MOMENT I'VE ALWAYS DREAMED OF! I DON'T EVER WANT THIS MOMENT TO END!"

He stopped kissing me to take off his clothes. Then he took off my pants and everything else on my body and I was deflowered. I couldn't express the love that I experienced! It was so passionate! So mind-blowing! So good that I wanted it to go on forever! It was the greatest day of my life! I felt like I finally became a woman! It was the perfect day at the perfect party with the perfect guy! I felt like I was dreaming! I didn't want this night to end! Everything felt so hot! The way he was rubbing me, kissing me, touching me, the sounds we both made, everything! He was incredible! After 2 hours of lovemaking, we both need to catch our breaths. I got up, wrapped my arms around Brent and said:

"OH MY GOD, Brent! That was wonderful! You're amazing!"
"I'm glad you enjoyed it!"

He put his clothes back on and I put mine back on. I jumped on his back and he started carrying me. He made his way to the door and when he opened it, people fell over into the room. Apparently, there were people outside listening to us have sex. As we walked out, people started clapping and cheering for us! We both were surprised because we didn't think they were actually listening to us! I got off of Brent's soft and luscious back, got the Dr. Pepper bottle, hopped on a wooden table and said:

"Everyone! I would like to make a toast! To Brent! Who is the best lover in the world! He made me feel things that I've never felt before! He gave me love, affection and passion and I want to be his girl! I LOVE YOU BABY!"

Brent looked at me with the biggest grin on his face and said:

"I LOVE YOU TOO, BABE!"

Then everyone yelled:

"YEAH!"

Then I yelled:

"TO US!"

I picked the Dr. Pepper bottle and poured the whole gallon down my mouth! Then the unthinkable happen! My chest started hurting! My head started throbbing and I fell straight through the table! I think I had a heart attack or something! I felt like I was going to die! Everything in my body started leaving me! My heart started beating slower, my head was killing me and I started gasping for air. Then I blacked out and couldn't hear anything.

1 Hour Later

I woke up on an operating bed with doctors wheeling me to the nearest emergency room. One of the doctors looked at me and said:

"You're going to be okay, dear! We're here to help you!"

Another doctor said:

"Take this girl to the trauma unit! Hook her up to an IV and make sure she's breathing properly!

I looked around the hallway to see what was going on. A lot of people were rushing back and forth to attend to the other patients that were in the hospital. I was hurting really bad! The pain was unbearable and it hurt to move anything! It felt like I was burning on all parts of my body!

The doctors found a room for me and one of the doctors said:

"Just relax. Everything's going to be fine!"

Another doctor came in the room and hooked me up to the I.V. Then he went over to the group of doctors and asked:

"Ok, so what have got here?"
"Well, someone called 911 about an hour ago and our medical team found her unresponsive. We ran some tests on her and found high concentrations of both alcohol and cocaine in her system."
"Sounds like she had too much to drink!"

Then I thought:

"What?!! How is that possible when I didn't drink alcohol or do cocaine at the party?"

"So now we're going to keep her on oxygen therapy so she can at least be able to breathe normally. In the meantime, one of you get her hooked up to and ECG so we can see how much damage was done."
"In the meantime, we need to call her parents to notify them that she's here."

That's what my nervous system came back on and the IV starting speeding up! I thought:

"NO! The last thing that I want is for my parents to be here! They were going to believe that I got high and drunk and I couldn't do anything about it!"

I wanted to pull the cord, but there would be no point. I didn't want to die, but I felt as if anything would be better than more problems that I could handle. It was bad enough that I was in the last place that I would ever want to be in my lifetime, but it would be even worse if I were to drag my family into this. Another doctor came in and said:

"Hi, Jen. My name is Doctor Edwin and I will be giving you your medicine."

He got a remote, pushed the "Up" button on the remote and the bed instantly propped me up. He went out the door, brought a cart with a cup of water and a plastic bag containing two aspirin pills. He took one of the pills out of the bag and said:

"Now, what I need for you to do is for you to say open your mouth as wide as you can."

I opened my mouth and he gave me my medicine. I swallowed my medicine and Dr. Edwin got the cup of water, held my head back and poured a little bit of water down my throat. After the first pill was swallowed, he did the same thing with the second pill. He then said to me:

"That should suppress the pain in your body so that you can move around without upsetting the veins. Give it a try."

I carefully lifted my arms, waved them around and surely enough, I didn't feel the pain. I moved both of my feet up and down and I didn't feel the pain in both of my feet. However, when I started to breathe, I started to feel a little pain in my chest because the heart attack affected major areas of my chest.

I said to Dr. Edwin:

"Thank you for taking away at least a small portion of the pain in my life."

He laughed playfully at what I said and replied:

"Glad I could help. Another doctor will be with you shortly."

He pressed the "Down" button on the remote, bringing the bed down and left the room. I laid back in the bed and stared at the ceiling thinking about what the doctors said about me doing cocaine and drinking alcohol. That was completely ridiculous! I don't remember doing either! I didn't even know that was at the party! How can they find cocaine and alcohol in me? I don't drink or do drugs! Something's up! But before I could ponder deeply into the matter, another doctor came in. She said:

"Hello, Jen. My name is Mrs. Solivver. I am your cardiologist and what I 'm going to do is place you in oxygen therapy. Now all I'm going to do is put this mask over your face so that your body can begin taking in more oxygen. Now, when I put this mask on, try to breathe like you would normally breathe. Breathe in and out."

She put the mask on my face and I did exactly what she said. Breathe in and out. I continued to breathe normally and as I did, I felt like I was given another chance at life. Almost as if all of my problems disappeared for the moment. Plus, I was finally away from everything that gave me drama (for the moment at least). As I continue the repetitive rhythm of inhaling and exhaling, I felt my heart beginning to beat regularly or at least heal itself from all of the damage done to it. My body began to relax itself and the pressure from the heart attack began to loosen in my arms and legs. But my head was still sore. I began to fall asleep, hoping that the pain in my head would eventually leave my body.

10 Minutes Later

I felt something tugging on me on my shoulder. It felt like a hand. Then I heard a voice.

"Jen, wake up. Wake up, Jen. It's your mother. Wake up."

When I heard that my parents were here, my eyes shot open! My mom and my dad were in the emergency room and they hugged me. They both looked at me relieved that I was okay.

My mom said:

"Oh, Jen. You had us worried. We thought you were going to die."

Then my dad added:

"Yeah, our family would never be the same if you left us. You're our daughter and we'll both do whatever we can to protect you. We love you!"

I looked at both of them and said while tearing up:

"I love you both!"

I hugged both of them again, but as softly as I possibly could. I didn't want to take any chances of setting off another heart attack. My parents walked over to the doctors and asked them how long would I need to stay here. The doctors told my parents that I may need to stay for at least 2 to 3 more days just to make sure that my major organs are working properly.

My mom crouched down beside my bed and said:

"Now Jen. If anything goes wrong, don't be afraid to ask any of the doctors for help. They're here to help you get better."

My dad, standing up, looked at me and said:

"You'll have everything you need right here in this hospital. But remember, if you need us, we're a phone call away."

I said to my parents:

"Thank you guys for being so understanding."

My mom said:

"Jen, we're your parents! That's our job!"

My dad leaned over and kissed me on my forehead. Both of them began to walk away from my bed and as they were about to leave out the door, my mom turned around and said:

"Get well soon, baby."

I looked at my mom with a smile on my face and said:

"Yes ma'am."

And that was the last time that I'd seen my parents in 2 whole days. For the next two days, I received more oxygen therapy so that my heart would be able to pump more oxygen back into my body. I was also given an X-ray so that the doctors could see if there were still some damaged areas in my body from the heart attack or if I was breathing properly. They also tested my nervous system to make sure that the blood was flowing through my body like it should and to test whether or not the nerves themselves weren't severely weakened during the heart attack. Plus, they gave me more aspirin for my headache that I had. I never expected these last two days here to be so stressful on me. I felt like the doctors were playing "Operation" with my body. I just wanted to leave. I didn't want to stay in this hospital anymore. I missed my family and most importantly, I missed Joanne. But I really couldn't do anything about it until my two days were over. So I just drifted to sleep and waited for tomorrow to come.

2 Days Later

I was finally able to leave the hospital. My parents came to the hospital, filled out a release form for me signifying that I was at the hospital for a certain period of time and we left. I was in the car thinking about the party. Thinking about how I blacked out from drinking the whole bottle of Dr. Pepper. I mean, maybe I had a bad heart or something. I'm sure the cardiologists took care of that. But normally, people don't black out after they drink a full bottle of soda which means there must've been something in that bottle that caused me to black out. I mean, that explains why there were people passed out on the floor when I went by the table with all the drinks on it. But the question is...what was in that bottle?

We made it back to my house and I got out of the car. My dad opened the door for us to come into the house and as I walked in, my parents brought me into the living room, told me to sit down and started asking me questions about the party.

My mom started off the conversation by saying:

Now, Jen. We're your parents and we love you. We care about your safety and your well-being and it's important for both me and your father to know what's going on with you. So, can you tell us what happened at the party?"

"Mom, I didn't do anything at the party. I swear! I don't remember that much of what happened, but I do know that I did not get high and I did not get drunk!"

Then my dad added:

"But that's not what the doctors said."

"Those doctors were lying! You got to believe me!"

My mom said:

"Honey, it's not that we don't believe you. It's just that we don't know what to believe."

Then my dad added:

"I mean, you probably had a soda and somebody probably slipped a little something extra in it when you weren't looking. We're not saying it's your fault."

I said, in an annoyed state:

"Then what are you saying?"

My mom said:

"Well, what we're saying is, we're just trying to figure out if your story checks out with the doctors' and right now, you're not giving us anything."

"I said, in an irritated state:

"I told you guys that I barely remember what happened. I went to the party, saw a friend of mine, drank a Dr. Pepper and the next thing you know, I'm in the hospital. I don't know what else to tell you."

My dad exchanged looks with my mother and they started to accept the fact that this was all the information that they were getting out of me.

My dad said to my mom:

"Well, if that's all she remembers, that's all she remembers."

My mom said:

"Well, I guess you're right. That heart attack must've taken a lot out of her."

Then she looked at me with a sympathetic face and said:

"My poor baby. Do you feel like you should go to school today?"

School. I didn't even think about school. I was so distraught about everything that happened over the weekend that I completely forgot about going to school. I started to think about Joanne and how I needed to tell her everything. The party. Brent. The hospital. Everything. But then if I do, I'll probably run the risk of seeing Heather again or have to be the victim of another huge rumor. Then I realized that if I don't go, I'm proving to everyone that they won over me and that I don't belong there. I couldn't let that happen.

I told my mom:

"Yes. Yes I do."

She said:

"Ok, Jen. Have some breakfast first."

My dad added:

"Also, change your clothes. You can't go to school wearing the same thing you wore to the party."

I looked at my clothes and realized that he was right. I was wearing the exact same outfit from the party. I ran upstairs, took my clothes off, took a shower, put on some different clothes, grabbed my pink hoodie, went downstairs, had a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios, said goodbye to my parents and walked to school. On my walk to school, I started looking around my street and took the time to truly understand what I would've missed out on if I died. The wonderful wildlife, the bluebird chirping its morning chirp, the squirrel venturing out into the world to find the acorn that will serve as its meal, the morning breeze sweeping me off my feet and guiding me into the meadow of happiness. I didn't want to leave this Earth. My life still has meaning left and a purpose that has yet to be fulfilled. Plus I would be leaving Joanne behind and not to mention Brent! (sighs) Brent! How I love you.

I finally made it to the school and as I walked towards it, I began to hear the loud chatter of the entire student body. I walked through the doors and when I did, I was met with the usual staring followed by the casual whispers that came out of the hallway.

"It's her!"
"The girl that slept with Brent?"
"Yeah, that's her!"
"What a sl**!"
"I heard she got drunk!"
"I heard she did coke!"

Ok, this was getting old. Every time I walk into the place, people always have something to say about me about everything whether they fully know about it or not. I was getting tired of it. I've been through too much this week to continue to hear this bull****! That's when I stopped walking, turned around and yelled:

"Shut the f*** up! None of you know a goddamn thing about me! I despise everyone in this hallway! Everyday it's the same damn thing! Everyone in here has some bull**** to say about me and about things that you all know absolutely nothing about! I'm sick of it! I really am to the point where I will knock anybody out that has a problem with me like you knocked me out! I've been through too much to be torn down! So, get it out of your system, walk away and SHUT THE F*** UP!"

I turn around and started walking down the hallway while leaving everyone in the hallway completely silent. I went into the girls bathroom and found Joanne doing her makeup and brushing her hair. I went over to her and she said:

"Hey. How was the party?"
"It was a good night gone bad."
"What happened?"
"Went to the party, got harassed by a creeper, got saved by my man Brent..."
"Ohhhh, so you finally got him."
"And we had sex!"
"Wow! That was...unexpected!"
"But here's where it goes bad. I started drinking this bottle of Dr. Pepper and I started to get extremely happy and excited about everything almost as if I was possessed by something. I had so much energy that I ended up being the life of the whole party! Then I was so happy that I got on top of a wooden table..."
"Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait! You were so happy that you stood on top of a table?"
"It was something in the bottle, I don't know! Anyway, I stood on top of the table, announced in front of everyone in the party how me and Brent were together, drank the whole gallon of Dr.Pepper and blacked out. Next thing you know, I'm in the hospital."
"Wow, you were wild! But what were you doing in the hospital?
"I had a heart attack."
"Oh my god! Are you alright?"
"Yeah. I'm fine now. I just need to take it easy and be aware of my surroundings."
"I should've been there. Who knows what would've happened to you?"
"Okay, now you're starting to sound like my mom."
"My bad, but think about what would happened if you died. I'd be devastated. You're my best friend and I don't want to lose you. We've been through too much together as friends and we have a strong bond because of it. But I'm just glad that you're okay."
"Yeah, I'm glad that I'm still alive too. I didn't even think that I was going to survive. When I dumped that bottle down my throat, everything in my body shut down. I thought I was done."

Then Joanne became sympathetic for a minute and hugged me. A few seconds later, she started sniffling and whimpering. I felt the wet drops of sadness on my back and elbow. She was shedding hard tears at the thought of me not being here on this Earth. I didn't understand how much Joanne cared about me. She acted like I was her sister the way she was crying. I stood there while she hugged there and hugged her like she would usually hugged me. I didn't cry because this time, I wanted to be the strong one at this one. Now was not the time for crying! I was given another chance at life and I was not going to waste it crying my eyes out. Joanne stopped crying after 3 minutes of crying so hard that her makeup started running off of her face. I went over to the paper towel dispenser, gave her a paper towel and she cleaned her face of all of the tears, snot and makeup that fell.

Joanne looked back at me from where she was standing and said:

"I love you, Jen. I will always love you. You are my best friend and I care for you more than I care about myself."

I looked back at her with a smile on my face and said back to her:

"I love you too, Joanne."

I hugged Joanne one last time and left the bathroom. I walked straight to my locker to get my things for class and as I started walking, I observed how everyone that I'd see walking the halls didn't make eye contact with me. They weren't saying anything about me. They weren't giving me a hard time. There was nothing thrown at me and I was finally able to walk the halls. I guess that's what happens when you finally put your foot down. I made it to my locker and got my things that I needed for class. I walked into class and sat at my seat which was in the back of the classroom. My teacher, Mr. Pertz, made an assignment for the entire class to do. He wanted us to write a full page paper on someone in this classroom and how they make you feel.

I thought:

"God. I should write my paper about God. God is everywhere. Including in this one classroom so that should be a good topic."

I started writing my paper about how God has given me a second chance at life. I talked about my visit to the hospital, how I thought I was going to die and how I managed to survive my heart attack. I put my heart and soul into writing this paper. I wanted to make everyone's eyes pop out of their skull in awe as they hear how much I had been through and how God made me see another day. He is and always will be my lord and savior. When I finished my paper, Mr. Pertz came around with a basket and collected the papers including mine. Now, here's what he did with the papers. He went through the papers, wrote each student's name on the board and made tally marks on the # of papers that was written about that student. He looked at the papers again and drew a tally mark under my name. Then he drew another tally mark. And another and another and another. One tally mark after another under my name. Then he drew a mad face emoticon reflecting the mood of each individual that wrote a paper about me and the worst part of it was there were no tally marks drawn by anyone else's name. Only mine. And there was one tally mark that was set to the side of the board which symbolizes mine because I didn't write about a student. I got up from my desk and ran out of the room trying hard not to cry. Mr. Pentz ran out the door and said:

"Jen, wait! Come back!"

I ran as far away from the classroom as I possibly could. I didn't want to see anyone in that classroom ever again because they were all a**holes! Just as I was about to run to the office to call my parents, Joanne ran up to me hesitant and at an alarming rate. She said:

"Jen! You'll never believe what I just heard?"
"What?"
"Heather was using Brent to get closer to you!"
"You're right. I don't believe you."
"Jen, listen to me! It's the truth! The Dr. Pepper, the sex, Brent being in love with you, all of it was a lie!"
"No, no, no! You're lying! Brent loves me! He does! You're just jealous because he loves me and not you!"
"Jen, you're being delusional! I just heard them say..."
"NOTHING! YOU HEARD THEM SAY NOTHING! Now you're lying to me because you're trying to make Brent look like a bad person when he isn't! He's my boyfriend, my lover and I won't let you or anyone else take him away from me! I NEVER WANT TO SEE YOU AGAIN! OUR FRIENDSHIP IS OVER!"

Joanne looked at me with tears developing in her eyes and said:

"Jen..."

I ran out of the building and headed straight home, leaving Joanne bawling on the floor. I was too blinded by my own infuriating rage to think about anything else. Joanne, everyone at school, Heather, my parents, everyone except Brent. I love Brent with all my heart and I wasn't going to let anyone destroy what we had together. I opened the front door and saw that my parents were both in the living room watching television. They turned around to acknowledge my early return back to the house and asked:

"Jen, what are you doing back so soon?"
"Did something happen?"

I didn't answer them. I just ran all the way upstairs, locked my door and sat in my room in silence. I didn't want to be bothered by anyone or anything. But I did want to speak to Brent. I picked up my cell phone, dialed his number and waited for someone to answer the phone. As I listen to the dial tone, I think about all of the things that I want to tell Brent. Someone answered the phone only it wasn't Brent. It was answered by someone who I never thought would be answering Brent's phone: Heather! She said:

"Hello, Jen or is it Queen of the Whores now?"
"What are you doing answering Brent's phone?"
"Relaying a message from him to you. He doesn't want you, Jen. He never did. I was just using him to get back at you for what you and your b**** did to my house!"
"Shut up! You don't know anything about our love!"
"Love? What love? Your "love" didn't even exist.
"Shut up! You don't know anything about us!"
"Really, Jen? Let me let you in on a little secret. Remember when you ran crying into the supply closet and Brent came and talked to you? That only happened because I sent him! I needed him to get you to come to the party so that my plan could be set in motion!"
"Plan? What plan?"
"My plan of chaotic proportions! Remember that guy that was messing with you? He was the signal for Brent to come into the living room to save you which started phase three of my plan. Remember the wonderful night in his room that you'd never forget?"

I said, extremely paranoid:

"You didn't."

She said, in a sinister yet demonic tone:

"Oh, yes I did! I had sex with him the night before the party so that I could give him AIDS which he gave to you!"

I shouted:

"No, that's not true! He would never do that to me! NEVER!

"Which brings me to the big finale! Remember the Dr. Pepper bottle?"

"No, no, no, no, no! NO! You didn't!"

"Well, why don't we let this person tell you the rest?"

Heather stopped talking and someone else picked up the phone. The voice said:

"Hello, Jennifer."

I said to the voice:

"Who is this?"
"This is Brent. The real Brent. The Brent that never loved you. The Brent that manipulated you this whole time! The Brent that didn't care whether you lived or died that night. The Brent that gave you AIDS."
"Brent, stop talking like that! Heather's got you brainwashed! That's not really you! You're my boyf-----"
"B****, don't you get it? I NEVER LOVE YOU! NEVER! You see, me and Heather have been working together this past week just to see you fall and not get up! For instance, the Dr. Pepper bottle. All I needed was for you to tell me your favorite drink and I had you right where I wanted you.
"What are you talking about?"
"I'm glad you asked. Each drink was mixed together with alcohol and a lethal drug which was pretty much the reason why you acted the way that you acted every time you took a sip of that drink and in your case, it was alcohol mixed with cocaine."

So, that's what the doctors mean about there being a high concentration of alcohol and cocaine in my system! That's what was in the bottle of Dr. Pepper! That's why I blacked out at the party! I poured the whole thing down my throat to the point where the alcohol, coke and soda took me out and gave me a heart attack! After hearing that, I yelled out:

"YOU BASTARD! I SHOULD'VE KNOWN YOU HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THIS! YOU COULD'VE KILLED ME! (crying) And I thought you actually loved me! I thought what we had was real!"

Brent started laughing on the other end. He said, as villainous as he possibly could:

"You thought wrong, b****! I would never love a girl like you! You are one of the most disgusting girls in the whole school! You never had a shot at trying to get me and you never will! So why do you do everyone a big favor and DIE ALREADY?!!"

I yelled out from the top of my lungs:

"F*** YOU, MOTHER******!"

I hung up my phone, threw it at the wall and it split in two. I put my head in my hands and started crying. I was so mad and so sad that I screamed and cried at the same time! I can't believe that my love life was all a lie! I can't believe that Heather put me through all of this! I can't believe that I yelled at my own best friend and left her there on the floor to cry because I was too stubborn to listen to what she had to say about that a**hole and that evil, lowdown f****** lesb****! I was truly heartbroken and felt like no one cared about me. I felt like I had another heart attack because everything in my body hurt so bad. I didn't want to go anywhere. I didn't want to see anymore. I didn't feel like going on anymore. I got up from the floor, ran to the bathroom, got the prescription pills that my mom would take for her insomnia and got 5 pills. I was planning to kill myself. I figured that it was better than being in this cruel, cruel world that I was not wanted in. I looked in the mirror and watched my despondent reflection. I asked my reflection:

"Why did it have to come to this? Why? This shouldn't be happening to me! Should it?"

I said, while weeping:

"Goodbye, world!"

Then I looked up at the ceiling and yelled:

"I GIVE UP!"

But just as I was about to put the pills in my mouth, someone knocked on the bathroom window. I didn't see a face. I just saw a black fist beating on the window. I went over to the window and saw a boy dressed in all black. Black shoes, black shirt, black jacket, black sunglasses, black pants, black everything. He didn't say anything.

I said:

"Who are you? What do you want?"

He once again didn't say anything. He went into his pocket and brought out a card. He gave me the card and it had a message that said:

"It gets better."

He turned around, took 5 steps forward, snapped his fingers and POOF! He disappeared right before my eyes. As I looked at the card, I wondered why did that boy come to me? What was he trying to tell me? Was he trying to stop me from making a bad decision? I put the pills back into the canister, walked towards the window and shouted to the sky:

"Whoever you are..., thank you!"
